Studio Ghibli movies are my favorite movies, so it is pretty crazy how I had never seen Ponyo until today. Ponyo is a movie about a fish who meets a young boy named Sosuke and want's to become a human. Eddie got me to watch it tonight and it was absolutely adorable, up there with My Neighbor Totoro, one of my favorite Studio Ghibli movies. I'm so glad I finally sat down and watched it. It was a fantastic way to end my lazy Saturday. It made me so happy. Every part of it was so cute, and the film score was incredible. It was composed by Joe Hishashi, who does the other movie scores for Studio Ghibli. So beautiful, and fit perfectly with each scene.
Having been in a classical band for ten years, it is so inspiring to hear such great film scores. It makes me want to practice and become a recording saxophonist. My private lessons teacher is one, and his job sounds incredible. You can hear him playing the solo on the Little Mermaid ride at Disneyland and a solo in some fight scene of this awful movie, haha. He's also doing the recording for the Sesame Street theme park that they're opening in Pennsylvania. The more great music I hear, the better I want to be. Inspired ^__^
If you haven't seen Ponyo, I 100% recommend you see it. If you haven't seen any Miyazaki films, I suggest you get to that. I really love Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, and Princess Mononoke. They're all animes with a sort of magical sense and a water motif. They're all really uplifting, feel good movies, and you can't help but fall in love with them.
I drew a thing. Look at it!
Anyway, I'm gonna go hang out with Eddie some more. Have a good night, everyone! Bonne nuit! <3
